The Pathfinders recovery program in recent years has been
expanded to include a special group of men. The Shelter Plus Care program serves homeless men with
a dual diagnosis of substance abuse and mental illness. This population is considered by health officials
as one of the most under-served groups of homeless people in the nation.
Pathfinders, after losing their lease at University Avenue and
Grim Street, has planned relocation. A new property acquired by Pathfinders, also located on University Avenue,
is now being remodeled. The facility will provide space for the Corporate Offices and housing for Shelter Plus Care
residents.
The Shelter Plus Care long term facility, located on Streamview Drive in the
College Grove area, houses 16 residents.
